
Aldo R. Pignanelli served as President of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic in 2002. Previously, he held the positions of Vice President and Director since 1997, roles in which he actively participated in the Administration, Operations, Control, and Reserves Management Committees.
He held the position of Director of the Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (1987-1989), served as an Advisor with the rank of Subsecretary in the Subsecretariat of Municipal Affairs of the Province of Buenos Aires (1989-1991), and worked as a Financial Advisor to the Board of Directors of the Banco de la Provincia de Formosa (1992-1997). In 1996, he worked as a Financial Consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He also served as the Secretary of the Economy for the Municipality of Moreno in the years 1986-1987.
His public sector work was preceded by extensive experience in the private sector, where he worked as a Financial and Economic Consultant and held significant positions (General Manager, Chief Financial Officer) in leading companies in diverse sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, industrial hardware, or the import and distribution of automobiles.
Aldo R. Pignanelli graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Buenos Aires in 1974. He completed various specialized courses in Financial Management, Costs, Planning and Control, and Public Finance.
